March 14, 2026-Emporia State improved to 6-2 on the year with a 4-3 win over Ouachita Baptist on Saturday afternoon at the Kossover Family Tennis Center.
 
DOUBLES
The Hornets clinched the doubles point with 6-2 wins at #1 by Yuliya Klimova and Carla Paul Piquer and #2 by Sheriden Wichman and Giovanna Ferreira.  Ana Fatjo Coll and Giulia Russu then finished doubles with a 7-6 (7-4) win at the #3 spot.
 
SINGLES
When singles started OBU took a 2-1 lead with wins at #6 and #2 spots.  Wichman won 6-3, 6-4 at #3 to even the dual and Ferreira gave the Hornets a 3-2 lead with a 6-2, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4 win at #1 singles. Emporia State clinched the dual win with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win by Erin Cahill at #5 singles. The Tigers won at #4 for the final score.
 
UP NEXT
Emporia State will head to Florida for three duals over Spring Break.  The Hornets start off with Angelo State on Tuesday, March 17 in Orlando.
