OPPORTUNITY   
The Lady Hornets travel to Claremore, Okla. to take on on Rogers State. Emporia State has not won on the road in back to back MIAA games since starting the 2022-23 conference  season with three road wins.

ABOUT THE LADY HORNETS
Emporia State is 10-9, 4-6 in the MIAA.  They are fourth in the MIAA in turnover margin. Gracie Gilpin is second in the MIAA in three-pointers made per game and averages 12.8 points per game. Kaitlyn Sanders is sixth in the MIAA at 16.3 points per game.  

ABOUT THE HILLCATS
Rogers State is 7-12, 4-6 in the MIAA. They are second in the MIAA in assist to turnover ratio. Five Hillcats average at least 7.5 points per game led by Ataya Casaus at 9.1 points per game.

ABOUT THE COACHES
MJ Baker is 10-9 in her first season with the Lady Hornets and is 61-55 in her fourth year as a head coach at a four year institution. She has won 344 games as a collegiate coach and comes to Emporia State after an eight year run at Eastern Florida State College.  She went 183-58 with three conference championships and three trips to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament during her time at EFSC.  This is her first meeting with Rogers State.
Heather Davis is 25-50 in her third season at Rogers State. She is 0-3 against Emporia State.

SERIES HISTORY
Emporia State leads the all-time series 10-1 and have won five in a row. They have outscored the Hillcats by an average of 18.0 points per game in the 11 games of the series. The lone Rogers State win was a 77-59 victory in Claremore on February 5, 2022.

LAST TIME VS ROGERS STATE
The Lady Hornets used a 15-0 run in the first half to take control on the way to a 73-49 win over Rogers State in White Auditorium. Ella Hafer hit a jumper at the 7:16 mark to give the Hillcats a 4-3 lead with 7:16 left.  Elizabeth Tjaden got a steal and layup to start the 15-0 run for Emporia State. Five different Lady Hornets scored during the run capped by a Makenzie McDaniel layup with 2:15 left in the quarter that gave Emporia State an 18-4 lead.  Tjaden gave Emporia State their biggest lead of the game at 69-42 with 5:57 remaining to cap off an 11-1 run and the Lady Hornets cruised to the 14 point win.
Elizabeth Tjaden led Emporia State with 15 points and was joined in double figures by Macey Gandee with 11 and Jayla Cornelius with ten points. The Lady Hornets outrebounded the Hillcats 44-33 on the night.

LAST TIME OUT
 Gracie Gilpin scored a career-high 31 points to lead the Lady Hornets to a 77-71 road win over Ark.-Fort Smith on Friday afternoon, The Lions scored the first nine points to force an Emporia State timeout with 7:12 left in the opening quarter.  Katiya Casey scored the next 11 points during a 13-0 run for teh Lady Hornets as they took a 13-9 lead with 3:09 left in the period. Gilpin converted five of seven threes on her way to 17 points in the second quarter as the Lady Hornets held a 38-37 lead at the half. Ark.-Fort Smith nearly replicated their run to open the game as they put up seven straight points to take a 44-38 lead to start the second half. Emporia State rallied to take a 48-47 advantage, and the lead changed hands three times in the final three minutes of the third with Ark.-Fort Smith leading 53-52 heading into the fourth. Following three lead changes early in the fourth, the Lady Hornets used an 11-3 run to take control of the game. Emporia State shot  nine of 11 from the floor and five of six from the free throw line in the final quarter to close out the 77-71 win. Gracie Gilpin scored a career-high 31 points and made a career-best seven threes to lead the Lady Hornets. Katiya Casey scored in double figures for the second time this season, as she recorded a career-high 17 points of her own. Macey Gandee added nine points and a team-high nine rebounds.

UP NEXT
The Lady Hornets wrap up their four game road trip at Central Oklahoma. Tip-off from Hamilton Fieldhouse in Edmond, Okla. is set for 1:30 p.m.
