May 22, 2025-Emporia State had two school records, advanced to Saturday's finals in two events and earned two second-team All-American honors on Thursday at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Pueblo, Colo.

Emmanuel Dukpe had the top finisher for the Hornets on Thursday. He broke Taysean Goodwin's school record with a time of 46.29 in the men's 400m to qualify seventh for finals. He bettered Goodwin's mark of 46.30 set at the 2018 NCAA Championships.

Ty Anderson competed in two events on Thursday and came away with a pair of personal bests. He started out with a career best of 7.46m (24-5.75) to finish 11th in the long jump. About 30 minutes after getting his PR in the long jump he broke his own Emporia State record in the 100m. He ran 10.13 qualified for the finals with the ninth best time. He broke his own record of 10.17 set at this year's ESU Relays.

Jonah Remsberg got things started for the Hornets in the decathlon. He started the day with an 11.22 in the 100m and then went 6.91m (22-8) in the long jump. He had outdoor personal bests in his final three events of the day. He started his string of PRs with an outdoor personal best of 10.87m (35-8) in the shot put. He then cleared 1.90m (6-2.75) for a personal best in the high jump. He finished the day with a PR of 50.71 in the 400m. After five events he is in 13
th place overall with 3638 points.

Abigael Reid Harelson earned second-team All-American honors by placing 11th with a time of 1:00.14 in the women's 400m hurdles.

Max Neeley was the other Hornet competing on Thursday but did not clear 4.82m (15-9.75) in the men's pole vault.

Emporia State will be return to action on Friday beginning with the final five events of the decathlon for Remsberg starting at 9:30 a.m. (MT). The quartet of
Bryson Turner,
Israel Domeh,
Braden Lipgens and Dukpe will wrap up the day at 8:05 p.m. (MT) in the prelims of the 4x400m relay.
