May 10, 2025-Emporia State made the most of their last chance at qualifying with four provisional qualifiers at the Loper Twilight on Saturday night in Kearney, Neb. All four of the provisional marks were season's bests.
The highlight of the night came in the final event as
Bryson Turner,
Israel Domeh,
Braden Lipgens and
Emmanuel Dukpe broke the school record in the 4x400m relay. Their time of 3:07.89 was good for second place at the Loper Twilight and moved them into fourth on the NCAA Division II list as of 10 pm on Saturday night. They broke the previous record of 3:08.69 set by Parker Evans, Luke Stenzel, Duke Tibbs and Taysean Goodwin at the 2018 Drake Relays.
Max Neeley won the men's pole vault by clearing 5.08m (16-08.00) and moving to 14th on the national list. It is the second best mark in Emporia State history in the event.
Trenden Collins cleared 2.09m (6-10.25) to win the men's high jump. He moved into a four way tie for 21st on the Division II national list.
Domeh moved into the top five all-time at Emporia State in the men's 200m. He ran 21.01 to finish second in Kearney and moved into a tie for fifth on the Hornets all-time list with Vincent Howze who set his mark at the 2012 NCAA Championships. Domeh is ranked 53rd on the D2 list this year.
Ty Anderson placed second with a jump of 7.16m (23-06.00) in the men's long jump.
Kingsley Bennett ran 10.53 to place third in the men's 100m while
Tyus Wills was clocked in 10.64 to place seventh.
Cade Mann was seventh in the with a time of 50.15 in the men's 400m.
Mia Manley was the lone Emporia State female competing. She cleared 3.67m (12-00.50) to place fifth in the pole vault.
Emporia State has 19 provisional qualifying marks as of 10 pm on Saturday night with ten marks representing 11 student-athletes in nine different events ranked in the top 22 nationally. The field for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be announced on Tuesday on ncaa.com.
