April 12, 2025-Emporia State had three provisional qualifiers, an event champion, a runner up and nine top eight finishers on Saturday at the KT Woodman Classic at Wichita State.

Max Neeley added to his impressive sophomore season as he became just the third Hornet to clear 5.00m in the men's invitational pole vault. He won the event with a provisional qualifying mark of 5.00m (16-4.75) that ranks third all-time at Emporia State.

Emmanuel Dukpe finished second with provisional qualifying time of 47.44 in the men's 400m.

Israel Domeh had a provisional qualifier of 21.07 to finish seventh in the men's 200.

Aaron Quillen was fourth clearing 4.57m (15-00) in the men's invitational pole vault while
Jaxon Russell cleared 1.93m (6-4) in the men's open high jump to place fourth as well.

The quartet of
Kingsley Bennett,
Alden Mollerus,
Isaac Tarango, and Domeh had the other top eight finish for the Hornet men, placing seventh with a time of 41.85 in the 4x100m relay.

Mia Manley had the top finish for the Emporia State women. She cleared 3.59m (11-9.25) to place sixth in the invitational pole vault.

Renee Nichol jumped 5.48m (17-11.25) to place seventh in the women's long jump.

Abigael Reid was eighth with a time of 1:02.28 in the women's 400m hurdles.

The next scheduled action for the Hornets will be the 102nd anniversary of the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kan. Events begin on Thursday, April 17 at Rock Chalk Park.
