March 25, 2025-The Emporia State Hornet and Lady Hornet basketball teams combined for four Academic All-District honors as selected by College Sports Communicators.

Gracie Gilpin,
Katie Horyna and
Allie Ostermann were all named CSC Academic All-District for their work in the classroom.
Harris has a 3.71 GPA in Business as a red-shirt freshman for the Hornets. He averaged 7.3 points per game overall and 13.0 points over his final eight games.
Gilpin is a junior with a 3.69 GPA in Computer Science and was named Honorable Mention All-MIAA this season. She led the MIAA and ranked sixth in the nation in made three-pointers per game this year while averaging 12.5 points per game.
Horyna has a 3.62 GPA in Health and Human Performance as a fifth year senior and was named Honorable Mention All-MIAA this year. She led the MIAA in minutes played this year while ranking sixth in assists and assist to turnover ratio.
Ostermann is a graduate student with a 4.00 GPA in Information Technology. She made 24 three-pointers this year.
To be nominated, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests/sets played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 16.
The Division II CSC Academic All-America® program is partially supported financially by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the program.
