March 16, 2025-The #20 Emporia State men's tennis team won their fourth straight dual and moved to 8-1 on the season with a 7-0 win over NCAA Division III #37 Hobart College on Sunday in Orlando, Fla.

The Statesmen won the first doubles match 6-4 before the Hornets came back to claim the point.Â
Alexis Mattenberger and
Gwendal Mazuay won 6-4 at #1 while
Anton Sarunic and
Luke West won 7-5 at the #2 spot to give ESU the lead.

Diego Calov win 6-1, 6-0 at #4 and
Duvan Santiago Torres won 6-2, 6-0 to put the Hornets up 3-0. Sarunic, who is ranked #18 in the nation in D2, clinched the win for Emporia State with a 6-4, 6-0 win at the top of the order. Mattenberger won 6-3, 7-5 at #3,
Mostafa Elbasnaly picked up a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) at #2 and
Hachem Fahem earned a 6-7 (2-7), 6-1, 1-0 (10-0) victory at #6 to close out the dual.
The #20 Hornets continue their trip to Florida with a showdown against #12 UT-Tyler on Tuesday, March 18. First serve at teh USTA National Campus in Orlando is set for 11:30 a.m.
