Ty Anderson ran the tenth fastest time in the 60m and
Jonah Remsberg is in 13th place in the heptathlon after day one for Emporia State at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.
Remsberg will have some work to do on Friday to get into the top eight of the heptathlon as he sits in 13th place with 2743 points after day one. He started the day finishing ninth with a time of 7.26 in the 60m dash. He moved into sixth place overall with a mark of 6.97m (22-10.50) in his only legal attempt in the long jump. He went 10.52m (34-6.25) in the shot put. In the final event of the day, he cleared 1.80m (5-10.75) in the high jump and finished the day 178 points out of the final scoring spot.
Anderson ran 6.72 and finished fourth in his heat and 11th overall in the 60m prelims. It is his second best time in the 60m behind his school record of 6.68 set at the MIAA Championships. His full time of 6.712 was actually .003 seconds faster than the last second place automatic qualifier.
Remsberg will begin the final day of the heptathlon at 10:20 a.m. on Friday with the 60m hurdles.
