Neeley moves up in pole vault, Vermetten in weight throw

February 15, 2025-Emporia State had three more provisional qualifying performances on Saturday at the Ichabod Invitational in Topeka, Kan.
 
Max Neeley finished second by clearing a provisional qualifying bar of 4.93m (16-2.00) in the men's invitational pole vault. It is the third best mark in Emporia State history.
 
Madison Vermetten hit the provisional qualifying mark in the women's weight throw for the first time this year in impressive fashion.  She had a career best by over a foot and a half when she went 17.11m (57-1.50) to finish fourth in field.  It is the third best women's weight throw in Emporia State history.
 
Ty Anderson hit the provisional mark in the men's 60m for the fifth time in five meets this indoor season.  He ran 6.79 to finish sixth in the finals.
 
Emporia State will wrap up the regular season next weekend at the Friday Night Lights on Saturday in Maryville, Mo.
