Baker Announces First Lady Hornet Signee for 2026-27

November 12, 2025-Lady Hornet coach MJ Baker has announced her first high school signing as Sarah Yokley will be attending Emporia State next year and playing basketball for the Lady Hornets.
 
"We are thrilled to welcome Sarah Yokley to the Lady Hornet family," said Baker. "And as a future teacher of America, there is no better place for her than Emporia State."

Yokley shot 55% from the field and 35% from the three point line as a sophomore for Owasso HS. She helped lead the Rams to the Oklahoma State Semifinals before sitting out last season with an injury.
Baker on Yokley: She is a dynamic guard with great size, intelligence, and a relentless work ethic. Sarah embodies everything we value: toughness, character, and purpose.

Emporia State will open the 2025-26 season on Friday, November 14 against Wayne State (Neb.) at the D2 Central Region Showcase in St. Joseph, Mo.  Tip-off from the Civic Arena in downtown St. Joseph is set for 3:00 p.m.
