October 7, 2025-Emporia State was held to .049 hitting in a 25-22, 25-17, 25-17 loss to #9 Washburn on Tuesday night in White Auditorium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets fell behind 2-0 to start the first set and played catch up the rest of the set. Emporia State tied the score at 8-8 on a service ace from
Lavra Krizanic but the Ichabods went on a 7-1 run to take a 15-9 lead. ESU closed to within 22-21 on an ace from
Brailee Bogle but Emery Keebaugh scored the final two points on kills to give WU a 25-22 win.
There were four ties and two lead changes in the first ten points of the second set before a 7-2 Ichabod run forced an Emporia State timeout at 12-7. The Hornets were within 19-16 on a kill by
Mia Frisbie but the Ichabods closed the set on a 6-1 run to go up 2-0 in the match.
The first 18 points of the third set saw six ties and two lead changes. A 5-1 run gave Washburn a 14-10 lead and Emporia State would not get closer than three points the rest of the way before falling 25-17.
