HOW IT HAPPENED
Throughout set one, the Hornets and Tigers traded points with the two teams eventually deadlocked at 20-20 late in the frame. Emporia State closed out set one on a 5-2 scoring run, which included three kills by Delainee Dexter to take the first 25-22.

Following an early spurt by the Hornets to make it 4-0 in set three, the Tigers were able to come back and eventually hold a 15-13 lead which forced a Hornet timeout. Emporia State responded after the timeout with a 7-1 scoring run, making the score 20-16 for the largest lead of the set for the Hornets.
