January 8, 2025-The post season awards continue to roll in for Emporia State receiver Tyler Kahmann. He has been named to the inaugural Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America Team as well as a being named First-Team in the D2Football.com Elite 100 list. It is the fifth and sixth All-American honr for Kahmann this year, after garnering AFCA, D2CCA, AP and Don Hansen Football Gazette First-Team honors earlier. He is the most decorated Hornet football player since Brian Shay won the 1998 Harlon Hill Trophy.

The Haysville, Kan. native is a two-time first-team D2CCCA All-Region selection, two time first-team All-MIAA selection and was a unanimous pick for all-conference this year. He leads the nation in receiving yards per game, receptions per game and touchdown catches.  His 1,488 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns set Emporia State single season records while his 100 catches are second all-time at Emporia State to his 101 receptions last season in 12 games.

His five touchdown receptions against Neb.-Kearney are also a school record.

Kahmann was also named an Academic All-District performer by the College Sports Communicators this week and is eligible to earn his second Academic All-American award this year as well.

Kahmann is one of five MIAA players named to the Walter Camp Foundation All-America First-Team. He was one of three MIAA players that earned First-Team designation from D2Football.com with a total of 11 players from the Association named in the Elite 100 list.

This is the first time the Walter Camp Foundation has selected an All-American team for NCAA Division II, however this is the 135th year the Foundation has named an All-American team.  Walter Camp, "The Father of American football," first selected an All-America team in 1889. Camp – a former Yale University athlete and football coach – is also credited with developing play from scrimmage, set plays, the numerical assessment of goals and tries and the restriction of play to eleven men per side. The Walter Camp Football Foundation – a New Haven-based all-volunteer group – was founded in 1967 to perpetuate the ideals of Camp and to continue the tradition of selecting annually an All-America team.
The Walter Camp Football Foundation is a member of the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA). The NCFAA was founded in 1997 as a coalition of the major collegiate football awards to protect, preserve and enhance the integrity, influence and prestige of the game's predominant awards. The NCFAA encourages professionalism and the highest standards for the administration of its member awards and the selection of their candidates and recipients.

The D2Football.com Elite 100 Team was selected by the staff of D2Football.com with input from numerous sitting head coaches as well as professional football scouting veteran Josh Buchanan. The team includes first and second team selections for offense, defense and special teams along with 25 "Squad" players for offense and defense. Squad players are equivalent to "honorable mention" selections in similar national recognition lists.
