February 17, 2024-Both the Emporia State men and women's tennis teams fell at Rockhurst on Saturday night. The men fell 6-1 while the women lost 5-2.

The Hornet men were swept in doubles competition for the first time this season.
Mostafa Elbasnaly won the only point for Emporia State as he won 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-2) at #3 singles to remain undefeated in singles play on the year.

The Emporia State women had a 1-0 lead after doubles.Â
Lilie Bizouerne and
Paige Stranghoner won 6-4 at #2 while Pera Conde and
Sheriden Wichman prevailed 6-3 at #3 doubles.Â
Giovanna Ferreira picked up the singles win at #3 with a 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) victory.

The Hornet men travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. to open up MIAA/GAC North Division play on Sunday, February 25. The Emporia State women are not in action again until March 1 when the travel to Dallas, Texas for a neutral site match with Western New Mexico.
