Ten Hornets Earn MIAA Academic Honors in Cross Country

December 19, 2024-Emporia State had ten student-athletes named to the MIAA Cross Country Academic Honor Roll this season.
 
Aiden Burkhart, Gage Chapman, Kamon Haydock, Henry Jones and Cooper Schroer earned the honor for the Hornet men.  Mason Bina, Catherine Lyon, Madeline Martin, Koe Schultz and Elizabeth Wilhite made the team for the Emporia State women.
 
To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll, one must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. The individual must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.

These academic awards do not include first-year freshmen or first-year transfers. The MIAA will release its Newcomer Academic Awards from the 2024-25 academic year in late June.
