Jonah Remsberg turned in the second best heptathlon score in Emporia State history at the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Remsberg scored 5,213 points to place sixth overall in the seven event competition. He was the third ranked Division II finisher at the meet and is ranked fifth in the nation as of Saturday night. His total is 150 points behind
Payson Maydew's total of 5363 set at the 2015 MIAA Championships. He moved past Tanner Raubenstine who scored 5203 points at the 2021 Bearcat Invite.Â

Luke Grace was 13th overall with 4,702 points while
Coby Smith scored 4,612 points to place 14th overall.

The Hornets will be back in action on January 17 at the Washburn Rust Buster in Topeka, Kan.
