RACKING UP THE MILES
Following a road trip for matchups in the Sooner State last week, Emporia State hits the road again for matchups against Nebraska-Kearney and Central Missouri.

LAST TIME OUT
The Hornets took on Rogers State and Northeastern State in a pair of Sooner State showdowns and went 1-1 on the weekend. In the first match against the Hillcats, the Emporia State attack was powered by set pieces, as got goals from Megyn Mahloch, Hailey Gancarz and Mia Sandvig. Sandvig's goal came on a free kick in the second half while the first two were assisted by Hadlie Lowe and Aubrey Seltman. On Sunday, the Hornets trailed the Riverhawks 2-0 early in the second half and despite a goal from Hadlie Lowe, were unable to complete the comeback, falling 2-1.

A LOOK AT THE COACHES
Jane Grimley-Gunn is in year one at the helm of Hornet Soccer and is 5-5-2 on the season with a roster of 13 returners and 13 newcomers. Grimley-Gunn spent the previous two seasons as the head coach at Missouri S&T and this is her first meeting against both the Lopers and Riverhawks.
Rob Breton is in his third season at Nebraska-Kearney and is 8-32-10 in his time with the Lopers. He is 0-4 against the Hornets.
Lewis Theobald is in his 17th season at Central Missouri and is 300-49-27 with the Jennies. He is 21-6-1 against the Hornets.

A LOOK AT THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 5-5-2 on the season and currently 3-3-1 in the MIAA. The Hornets have had a host of contributors within the attack this season, as 11 different players have recorded goal on the season while four have score multiple goals. Hadlie Lowe, Megan Jeremias and Megyn Mahloch each have three goals this season, sharing the team-high. Abby Bachman has both two goals and two assists this season and is tied with Lowe for the team-high with 18 shots on the season. Like Bachman, Sade Lee also has two assists on the year. Bachman is also one of three outfield players with over 900 minutes played this season along with Ruby Ryan and Aubrey Seltman. In goal, Mackenzi Goen has started all 12 matches and played all but 36 minutes between the posts. She has 54 saves and a .761 save percentage. In the match against Rogers State last week, she recorded her eighth career shutout, tying Nikki Schmitz (2009-12) for fourth-most in program history.

ABOUT THE LOPERS
Nebraska-Kearney is 5-4-5 on the season and 1-4-3 in the MIAA. In their third season under Rob Breton, the Lopers have have the most wins in his tenure and the most wins since 2018. Offensively, they are led by Hanna Schimmer who has eight goals, which is tied for the most in the MIAA. As a team, UNK ranks in the top six in shots and have scored the seventh-most goals in the conference. 

ABOUT THE JENNIES
Central Missouri is 9-3-2 with a 6-1-1 MIAA record this season. The Jennies are third in the MIAA and all three losses on the season have come against teams currently ranked in the top 25. The attack is led by three players with five or more goals this season, including Ashleigh Martin who has a team-high seven to go along with three assists. As a team, the Jennies are outscoring opponents 38-12 this season and seven shutouts. Five of the seven shutouts have been solo shutouts by Kristen Wright in goal, who has a save percentage of .871 this season.
