October 21, 2024-Are you ready for an early start to Halloween in the Emporia area? Enjoy spooky season at Emporia State with the fourth annual Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Trunk or Treat on Monday, October 28 inside the ESU Student Rec Center.
 
"We are so excited and looking forward to having the fourth annual Trunk or Treat event," said ESU SAAC Co-President and men's tennis player Harris Kossover. "It is a great opportunity for student athletes to take a break from our sport and have the chance to interact with the Emporia area youth."
 
The SAAC Trunk or Treat is a free, safe and convenient opportunity to pick up treats and engage with representatives of all 17 of Emporia State's intercollegiate athletic programs. Student-athletes will be on site in uniform or costumes from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
 
"Emporia State Student Athletes had a great time at last year's Trunk or Treat event and we had to buy more candy for all of the kids who showed up," said ESU SAAC Co-President and women's tennis player Paige Stranghoner. "We try to engage the community, and youth are a big part of that. We can't wait to see everyone's costume."
 
In addition to giving out candy, SAAC will be accepting canned and non-perishable food items for Corky's Cupboard. The campus food pantry provides temporary food assistance to currently enrolled ESU students in an effort to alleviate hunger.
