Emporia State Cross Country runs at Southern Stampede

September 15, 2023-Jaime Diaz had a top 20 finish for the Emporia State men to highlight the Hornets' day at the Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo. on Friday. As a team the Emporia State men placed 13^th and the ESU women were 16^th overall.
 
Diaz ran 26:03.38 over the eight kilometer course.  Tyler Swift was the second Hornet finisher, running 27:15.50 to place 54^th out of nearly 200 runners.
 
Tayler Williams was the top placer for the Emporia State women. She covered the six kilometer course in 18:53.61 to place 37^th out of 190 finishers.
 
The next action for the Hornet harriers will be on October 29 at the Gans Creek Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
