December 14, 2023-Add another All-American honor to Emporia State receiver Tyler Kahmann's resume. The junior who led the nation in touchdown receptions has been named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-America Second-Team.  It is the second All-American honor for Kahmann after he was named Second-Team AP All-American earlier.

A First-Team All-MIAA receiver for the Hornets, Kahmann is leading the nation in touchdown catches with an Emporia State record 20 this season. He is ranked second in the nation in receptions, fourth in receiving yards, and sixth in scoring, points scored and total touchdowns. He has 101 catches for 1,234 yards on the season. He has had at least 100 yards receiving in seven of his last eight games and has caught a touchdown pass in eight straight games.

He is the only player in the NCAA at any level to have 100 catches, 1,000 receiving yards and 20 touchdown catches this season.

In his career the junior from Haysville, Kan. has 182 receptions for 2,198 yards and 34 touchdowns.  His 34 touchdown catches are an Emporia State career record.  He is second in career touchdown receptions among active NCAA Division II players.

Kahmann becomes the 15th Hornet to earn D2CCA (formerly Daktronics) All-American honors from the College Sports Communicators since 1991.

The MIAA led all Division II conferences with 11 selections to the D2CCA All-America team.

The Hornets went 9-3 last season and won the Fun Town RV Heritage Bowl. They are set to return ten players on offense and seven on defense that started the Heritage Bowl.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
