November 4, 2023 – Emporia State dropped their final home match of the regular season 3-0 against #17 Central Oklahoma.
The Hornets struggled throughout the match to contain the Central Oklahoma attack as the Bronchos hit .441 while Emporia State managed to hit just .168 over the course of three sets.
Emporia State fell behind early in the first sets as Central Oklahoma took a 7-2 lead over the Hornets. The Bronchos kept Emporia State at a distance throughout the set on their way to a 25-15 win in the first set.
Set two and three continued in a similar fashion for Emporia State as they dropped set two 25-10 and set three 25-17 as #17 Central Oklahoma clinched the 3-0 win over the Hornets on Saturday afternoon.
McKenya Sorrells led Emporia State with eight kills while
Camilla Ossola and
Maureen Mathews each recorded six kills of their own.
Brailee Bogle recorded 19 assists while
Anakaren Chavez recorded ten digs.
Emporia State will return to action on Monday, November 6 as they travel to take on Washburn. The match is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. from Lee Arena in Topeka, Kan.
