Six Hornets Named CSC Academic All-District For Emporia State Soccer

Dimarco, Woolery, Palmer, Lowe, Bachman and Burnett earn academic honors

November 21, 2023 – The Emporia State soccer team had four Hornets named Academic All-District as selected by College Sports Communicators. Mackenzie Dimarco, Hannah Woolery, Angela Palmer, Hadlie Lowe, Abby Bachman, and Anna Burnett were all named CSC Academic All-District for their work in the classroom.

Dimarco has a 3.80 GPA in Rehabilitation while being named First Team All-MIAA and the MIAA Offensive Player of the Year. She leads the nation with 22 goals and ranks second with 48 points, including the game-winning goal in each of the last three matches for the Hornets, including in the final minutes of the MIAA Championship.

Woolery maintains a 3.92 GPA in English and was also named First Team All-MIAA this season. On the year, Woolery has five goals and six assists and has recorded six points over the Hornets last four matches, highlighted by the game-winning assist in the MIAA Championship against Central Missouri.

Palmer has a 3.96 GPA in English and has started all 23 matches for the Hornets this season, playing the fifth-most minutes on the team. She has one goal and three assists this season with her third assist coming in the last match against Bemidji State.

Lowe has a 3.81 GPA in Health and Human Performance and has played in all 23 matches for the Hornets, totaling six goals and a pair of game-winning goals.

Bachman has a 3.82 GPA in Health and Human Performance in her sophomore year and was named honorable mention All-MIAA for the second consecutive season. She has played the fourth-most minutes for the Hornets and has four assists this season.

Burnett has a 3.86 GPA in Biology and has played in all 23 games for the Hornets. She has scored a career-high four goals this season, with two goals coming against Missouri Western for her first multi-goal game of her career.

To be nominated, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests/sets played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 20 (women).

The Division II CSC Academic All-America® program is partially supported financially by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the program.

The Hornets next match will come on Friday, December 1 as they will take on Washburn in the Central Region Championship Match. Kickoff from Ashland, Ohio is set for 3:00 PM ET.
