November 13, 2023 – For just the second time in school history, Emporia State will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Hornets are the number 2 seed in the Division II Central Regional Tournament and will play host to seventh seeded Fort Hays State on Friday, November 17 from the ESU Pitch at 1:00 p.m. Third seeded St. Cloud State will play sixth seeded Bemidji State in the first match at 10:00 a.m.

The Hornets are 12-5-4 on the season and won their second MIAA Tournament Championship in the past three seasons with a 3-2 victory over Central Missouri from Stryker Soccer Complex in Wichita, Kan. on Saturday night. The Tigers are 13-4-3 on the season and fell to Central Missouri 1-0 in the MIAA Semifinals.

The Huskies are 14-4-2 on the season and fell 2-0 against Bemidji State in the NSIC Tournament Semifinals. The Beavers are 12-3-6 on the season and won the NSIC Tournament Championship 2-0 against UMary.

The winners of the two first-round matchups will meet on Sunday, November 19 for the right to advance to the third round.
