March 27, 2022-Emporia State women's tennis opened MIAA play with a 6-1 loss to Missouri Western on Sunday afternoon at the Kossover Family Tennis Complex.
The Hornets battled in all three doubles matches falling 7-5 at both #1 and #2 with a 6-4 loss at #3 as the Griffons picked up the first point.
Karen Santiago Sanchez was the only Hornet to pull out a victory. She defeated Isabella MacGibbon 6-3, 6-2 at #3 singles.
Emporia State is back in action Friday, April 1 when the women travel to Northeastern State. First serve in Tahlequah, Okla. is set for 3:00 p.m.
