March 26, 2022 – Emporia State falls in seven innings to Missouri Southern 15-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Missouri Southern jumped on top of Emporia State early and often at Glennen Field. The Lions pushed across seven runs in the top half of the first inning on eight hits, including four RBI singles. Trouble continued for the Hornets as the Lions managed three more in the second inning as Emporia State was pushed deeper into the bullpen. The Lions eventually opened a 15-0 lead over Emporia State through six innings.
At the plate the Hornets struggled to reach base against the Lions with only four hits in the game. Emporia State finally did some damage to Missouri Southern in the bottom of the seventh when
Jack Maki ripped a two RBI single to right field. The Hornets were unable to add any more before falling in a seven-inning game.
Jack Maki went 1-2 with 2 RBI in the game.

Emporia State will conclude the series against Missouri Southern on Sunday afternoon from Glennen Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
