Tre'Zure Jobe's career high 36 points were not enough to make up for an early 15 point deficit as the Lady Hornets fell 77-65 at Northwest Missouri on Monday evening in Maryville, Mo.

The Bearcats scored the first five points and jumped out to an 11-2 lead. The Lady Hornets closed to 13-8 with 4:48 left in the quarter only to see Northwest Missouri end the period on a 12-2 run to lead 25-10 after one.

The Lady Hornets picked it up in the second quarter outscoring the Bearcats 20-10 in the period. Â A 10-2 run with Jobe scoring eight of the points pulled ESU within 33-30 before Mallory McConkey scored at the buzzer to give NWMSU a 35-30 lead at the break.

Northwest pushed the lead to double digits three times in the third quarter, the last time at 50-40 with 3:43 left in the period. Emporia State went on a 13-4 run and
Emily Weathers three-pointer pulled the Lady Hornets within 54-53 with 1:17 left in the quarter. The Bearcats scored the final five points of the period to take a 59-53 into the fourth.

Jobe hit an elbow jumper with 8:56 left to pull ESU within 61-58. The Bearcats then went on an 8-0 run to take a 69-58 lead with 5:08 left. Jobe and
Victoria Price each scored to bring ESU back within seven at 69-62 with 4:47 left but Price's layup would be the last field goal for Emporia State. The Bearcats could only muster three field goals themselves over the last four minutes but two of them were three-pointers as they outscored the Lady Hornets 8-3 over the final 4:04.

Ehlaina Hartman was the only other Lady Hornet in double figures with ten points.

Emporia State will finish the regular season with two home games later this week, starting with Pittsburg State on Wednesday. Tip-off from White Auditorium is set for 5:30 p.m.
