LADY HORNETS FALL AT CENTRAL MISSOURI ON MONDAY NIGHT

Emporia State held to lowest point total since 2015.

January 3, 2022-The Lady Hornets were held to a season low scoring output in an 83-49 loss at Central Missouri on Monday evening in Warrensburg, Mo.
 
The Jennies jumped out to an 18-2 lead as Emporia State called two timeouts in the first four and a half minutes.  UCM led 28-8 after the first quarter as the Lady Hornets shot just three of 11 from the field while the Jennies went 11 of 19 from the field.
 
Emporia State would outscore the Jennies 19-15 in the second quarter. A Kali Martin three pointer pulled the Lady Hornets within 38-27 with 1:34 left but UCM scored the final five points of the half to take a 43-27 lead to the break.
 
The Jennies used a 21-12 advantage in the third period to take a 64-39 lead into the fourth and outscored Emporia State 19-10 in the final period for the final score.
 
Kali Martin had 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists to lead Emporia State.
 
The Lady Hornets will be back in action on Thursday when they play host to Missouri Western.  Tip-off from White Auditorium is set for 5:30 p.m.
