HORNET VOLLEYBALL FALLS IN FIVE SETS AT FORT HAYS STATE

Emporia State had 2-0 lead on the road

September 18, 2021-Emporia State jumped out to a 2-0 lead but could not hold on as they lost 3-2 at Fort Hays State on Saturday afternoon.

The Hornets won the first set 25-20 and took the second set 26-24.  The third set was tied at 20-20 when the Tigers scored the next four points on the way to a 25-21 win.  FHSU then won the fourth set 25-16 before taking the final set 15-9.

Leah Mach came off the bench for a career high 13 kills with two blocks and was matched by Orianna Clements with 13 kills.  Dorianne Lebron had nine kills on .444 hitting with four blocks.

Emporia State returns to action on Tuesday, September 21 at Washburn.  First serve for the Turnpike Tussle is set for 6:00 p.m.
