March 20, 2021-Emporia State's men's and women's teams both began their trip to Nebraska with wins on Saturday. The Hornet women won 7-0 and the men 6-1 at Concordia (Neb.) in Seward, Neb.
The Emporia State women only dropped two games in winning all three doubles matches to take the early lead. The singles were equally dominate with the closest set being 6-3.
The Hornet men also won all three double action with
Taylor Nelson and
Andy Graf winning 6-1 at the #1 position. The other two matches were won 7-6 at #2 doubles and 6-4 at #3. Emporia State won five of the six singles matches with the only loss coming in a third set tiebreaker.
Emporia State will continue their tour of the Cornhusker State on Sunday at Doane University in Crete, Neb. First serve is set for 11:00 a.m.
