Tre'Zure Jobe three-pointer. Fort Hays State responded by closing out the first quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 15-11 lead.
Starting out the second quarter, the Tigers expanded their lead to 21-11. The Hornets broke a nearly eight-minute scoring drought with

At the break,
Tre'Zure Jobe led the Hornets with 13 points.
Coming out of halftime, Emporia State scored 4 of 5 points to take a 31-30 lead, the first Hornet lead since the first quarter. Fort Hays State immediately responded with a jumper to regain the lead that they would not relinquish. The Hornets sent the game to the fourth quarter trailing by 3 points after an
Ehlaina Hartman jumper from the baseline made the score 47-44.
Despite the Hartman jumpshot to close out the third quarter, the Tigers immediately responded to open the fourth quarter with a 10-2 run to open a 57-46 lead over the Hornets. Jobe was able to convert a trio of three-pointers in the fourth including one that followed a blocked shot and rebound by Jobe. The efforts of the Hornets to close the gap on the Tigers were strong but not enough as Emporia State fell 70-65.
