LADY HORNETS ROLL TO 90-49 WIN OVER PERU STATE

Tre'Zure Jobe scores 21 points to lead four Lady Hornets in double figures

November 27, 2021-The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 14-0 lead and never looked back in a 90-49 victory over Peru State on Saturday evening in White Auditorium. 
 
Emporia State led 26-10 at the end of the first quarter as Ehlaina Hartman scored 11 of her 18 points in the opening period.  The Bobcats cut the lead to 12 as Lycia Peevey scored the first two buckets of the second quarter.  The Lady Hornets used a 10-0 run to go up 38-16 with 5:19 left in the half and the lead would not go below 19 points the rest of the night.
 
Leading 46-23 at the half, Emporia State gave up two free throws to start the third quarter and then scored 13 straight points to take a 59-25 lead with 5:53 left in the period. The Lady Hornets scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter to push the lead to 45 points with 8:09 left before cruising to the 90-49 final.
 
Tre'Zure Jobe had 21 points to lead four Lady Hornets in double figures.  She was joined by Karsen Schultz and Ehlaina Hartman with 18 points each while Kali Martin added 14 points. Schultz had a team high nine rebounds and dished four assists to tie Jobe for team high honors.
 
The Lady Hornets will begin MIAA play on Thursday, December 2 when they play host to Neb.-Kearney.  Tip-off from Slaymaker Court in White Auditorium is set for 5:30 p.m.
 
NOTES:
With her 21 points Tre'Zure Jobe moved past Kay Clarke (1,138 points from 1975-79) and Andi McAlexander (1,150 points from 2002-06) into 24th on the Lady Hornets all-time scoring list with 1,152 points.  Next on the list is Sheri Moore who scored 1,159 points from 1988-92.
