COMING HOME
After playing three exhibition friendlies and four regular season matches on the road, Emporia State makes their 2019 home debut against Ft. Hays State on Friday before going to Topeka on Sunday for the first Turnpike Tussle of the year. Both matches are non-conference contests.
THE COACHES
Bryan Sailer is 65-69-21 in his ninth year at Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history. He has a career record of 124-92-23 that includes coaching four years at the community college level. He has led the Hornets to five straight .500 or better regular seasons, three straight MIAA Tournaments and their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance. He is 2-8-4 against Ft. Hays State and 10-2-3 against Washburn.
Blake Reynolds is 12-7-4 in his second season at Ft. Hays State and 114-49-10 in his tenth year as a head coach. He is 0-1-1 against Emporia State.
Davy Phillips is 19-20-3 in his third season at Washburn and is 63-34-9 in his sixth year as a head coach. He is 0-4-0 against Emporia State.
SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 3-1-0 on the season and have won three straight since falling in overtime in the season opener. Four different Hornets have scored on the season.
Mackenzie Dimarco has four goals and an assist to lead the Hornets in scoring and her three game winning goals lead the nation.

Kennedy Hoffman and
Aislinn Hughes have the other goals while
Hannah Woolery had two assists against Rockhurst.
Jillian Patton is leading the MIAA and ranked fourth in the nation in saves. She has two shutouts and has a 1.18 goals against average.
SCOUTING FORT HAYS STATE
The Tigers are 2-1-0 on the year. They have won their last two matches by 1-0 shutouts. Darby Hirsch and Jordan Thompson have scored the only two goals for FHSU this year.

The Hornets gave up two FHSU goals in the first two minutes of the second half but
Tanna Benefiel scored in the 63rd minute and
Rachel Marshall got the game winner in the 75th minute as Emporia State pulled out a 3-2 victory on the ESU Pitch.
SCOUTING WASHBURN
The Ichabods are 2-1 headed into this weekend's play. They have outscored their opponents 5-0 over the last two games. Six different players have scored one goal this year.
