April 5, 2019-Emporia State's women's tennis team fell 5-2 to #7 Central Oklahoma on Friday afternoon at the Milton Courts in the Kossover Tennis Complex in Emporia.
The Bronchos swept the doubles to take the first point of the dual. The Hornets #1 doubles team of Jessica Purdy and Viktoria Mackova played UCO's 12th ranked duo of Isabella Dunlap and Paola Landin to a tiebreaker before falling 7-6.
The Hornets won two singles matches to pick up their points. Karen Santiago came from behind to defeat Sarah Van Eeckhoudt 1-6, 7-6, 6-4 at #5 while Silvana Caceres won in straight set 6-4, 6-3 over Jessica Le at #6 singles.
Emporia State will begin their final stretch of MIAA play on Thursday, April 11 when they travel to Lindenwood. First serve in St. Charles, Mo. is set for 2:00 p.m.
