FINAL HOME STAND
The Hornets play their final regular season home matches this weekend beginning with a Turnpike Tussle rematch against Washburn on Friday followed by Senior Day against Neb.-Kearney on Sunday.
THE COACHES
Bryan Sailer is 72-72-23 in his ninth year at Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history and seventh winningest coach in MIAA history. He has a career record of 131-95-25 that includes four years at the community college level. He has led the Hornets to five straight .500 or better regular seasons, four straight MIAA Tournaments and their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance. He is 10-3-3 against Washburn and 6-5-3 against Neb.-Kearney.
Davy Phillips is 24-26-4 in his third season at Washburn and is 68-40-10 in his sixth year as a head coach. He is 1-4-0 against Emporia State.
Chloe Roberts is 11-30-11 in her third season at Neb.-Kearney. She is 0-4-1 against Emporia State.
SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 10-4-2, 5-2-2 in the MIAA and ranked seventh in the NCAA Central Regional Poll.
Mackenzie Dimarco is ranked second in the nation in game winning goals and sixth in total goals. Her 16 goals rank second on the Hornets single season list behind Brandie Booth's 17 goals in 2004.
Kennedy Hoffman has four goals. Gabby Crowell has three goals and three assists while
Hannah Woolery has two goals and five assists.
Aislinn Hughes has three goals while
Tanna Benefiel and
Daniela Cardona each have two goals. Emporia State has ten matches with at least 15 shots while holding their opponents to under 15 shots in 13 matches. They have five shutouts on the year with
Jillian Patton recording four of them while combining with
Tori Bailey on the third.
SCOUTING WASHBURN
The Ichabods are 7-7-1, 3-5-1 in the MIAA. Tera Lynch is their leading scorer with three goals and six assists while Olivia Grasso and Josie Rimmer each have four goals.
SERIES HISTORY
Washburn leads the series 15-13-4, but Emporia State leads 10-3-3 over the last 16 matches.
LAST TIME VS. THE ICHABODS
Emporia State outshot Washburn 16-11 and had an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks but the Ichabods found the net more often in a 3-1 Hornet loss. Emporia State got on the board when
Daniela Cardona lofted a kick over a Washburn defender and
Mackenzie Dimarco was able to beat the keeper. Emporia State keeper
Jillian Patton was shook up on a play in front of the goal in the 40th minute and was replaced by
Tori Bailey for 20 minutes until she was injured on the Ichabods third goal.

SCOUTING NEB.-KEARNEY
The Lopers are 2-7-7, 1-3-5 in the MIAA. They have set an MIAA record with seven ties this season. Three of their losses have been 1-0
SERIES HISTORY
Emporia State leads the series 6-5-3 after winning the last four matches.
LAST TIME VS. THE LOPERS
Emporia State picked up a 2-0 victory at Neb.-Kearney.
Aislinn Hughes found the back of the net with just over three minutes left in the half.
Kennedy Hoffman gave Emporia State a 2-0 lead in the 63rd minute. That was more than enough for the Hornet defense as Lopers only had two shots on the night compared to 18 shots with 14 on goal for Emporia State.
UP NEXT
The Hornets have clinched a spot in the MIAA Tourney and will play a first round game on November 8 at a site to be determined. One win this weekend will clinch home pitch in the first round.
