October 25, 2019-Emporia State cruised to a 3-1 win over Missouri Southern to set up a big match on Sunday when the Hornets travel to #5 Central Missouri.

Kennedy Hoffmann got the Hornets on the board in the 16
th minute on a header in front of the keeper.Â
Mackenzie Dimarco scored her 15
th goal of the year off a cross from
Rachel Marshall in in the 39
th minute to put Emporia State up 2-0. Marshall scored with under three minutes remaining in the half on an assist by
Daniela Cardona to give the Hornets a 3-0 lead at the half.

Southern would get on the board in the 73
rd minute when Bailey Belcher lofted a pass over the Hornet defense to Jessica Edwards who found the goal.

Emporia State outshot Southern 19-14 on the game with a 16-4 advantage in the first half.

The Hornets travel to Warrensburg, Mo. on Sunday to take on #5 Central Missouri with first place in the MIAA on the line. Kick-off from the South Rec Complex is set for 1:00 p.m.
