HOMECOMING WEEKEND
The Hornets return to the ESU Pitch to take on Central Oklahoma and Newman on Homecoming Weekend at Emporia State.

THE COACHES
Bryan Sailer is 70-71-22 in his ninth year at Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history. He has a career record of 129-94-24 that includes coaching four years at the community college level. He has led the Hornets to five straight .500 or better regular seasons, three straight MIAA Tournaments and their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance.  He is 1-4-3 against Central Oklahoma and 1-0-0 against Newman.
Mike Cook is 317-116-32 in his 21st season at UCO and is 405-138-33 in his 25th season as a head coach. He is 6-1-3 against Emporia State.
Aaron Avila is 36-19-13 in his fourth season at Newman. This is his first meeting with Emporia State.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 8-3-1, 3-1-1 in the MIAA and ranked eighth in the United Soccer Coaches Regional Poll. Mackenzie Dimarco is ranked third in the nation in total goals, fourth in game winning goals and seventh in total points.  With six regular season matches left, her 13 goals rank second on the Hornets single season list. Gabby Crowell has three goals and two assists while Hannah Woolery has two goals and four assists.  Tanna Benefiel, Kennedy Hoffman, Daniela Cardona and Aislinn Hughes each have two goals. Defensively Emporia State has given up one or fewer goals in eighth of their 12 matches on the year and have allowed fewer than ten shots in halfof their matches. They have four shutouts on the year with Jillian Patton recording three of them while combining with Tori Bailey on the third. Emporia State has won 13 straight home matches, the longest active streak in the MIAA.

SCOUTING CENTRAL OKLAHOMA
The Bronchos are 8-2-2, 3-2-0 in the MIAA and ranked fourth in the United Soccer Coaches Regional Poll. They are the highest scoring team in the MIAA with 40 goals in 12 matches. Kelsie Eason and Asha Haile have each scored nine goals with seven assists on the season.

The Bronchos lead the all-time series 6-1-3. They have met three times in Emporia with one tie and a pair of one goal UCO wins
LAST TIME VS. THE BRONCHOS
Then #11 Central Oklahoma held on for a 2-1 victory over Emporia State in Edmond, Okla. last year. The Bronchos took a 2-0 lead in the 47th minute before McKayla Brady scored in the 76th minute for the final score. Jillian Patton had 11 saves in the match for Emporia State

SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets are 6-3-3, 2-2-1 in the MIAA. They are the top defensive team in the MIAA, having allowed just seven goals in 11 matches. Jackie Lari has a league best 0.39 goals against with a .917 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY
The all-time series is tied at 2-2-0 but they have only met once in the last 12 seasons.
LAST TIME VS. THE JETS
Emporia State defeated Newman 2-0 in 2013. Tommi Bouknight got the Hornets on the board early with a goal from 20 yards out on the right side in the 16th minute.  McKenzie Koch made it 2-0 twenty minutes later when she scored from 20 yards out. Emporia State dominated time of possession and out shot the Jets 29-8 on the night with a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal.

Emporia State takes their final regular season road trip next weekend when they go to Missouri Southern on Friday and #5 Central Missouri on Sunday.
