NEW TERRITORY
The #14 Hornets make their first trip to Claremore,Okla. on Friday to take on Rogers State before playing at Northeastern State on Sunday.
THE COACHES
Bryan Sailer is 70-70-21 in his ninth year at Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history. He has a career record of 129-93-23 that includes coaching four years at the community college level. He has led the Hornets to five straight .500 or better regular seasons, three straight MIAA Tournaments and their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance. This is his first meeting with Rogers State and he is 4-6-0 against Northeastern State.
Yolanda Thoms is 14-10-4 in her second season at Rogers State. This is her first meeting with Emporia State.
Chase Wooten is 112-53-15 in his ninth season at Northeastern State. He is 6-4-0 against Emporia State.

SCOUTING ROGERS STATE
The Hillcats are 4-4-2, 1-1- in their first year in the MIAA. They have scored 12 goals while giving up 13. Laurelle Theodore is their leading scorer with three goals and two assists. Rogers State has allowed one goal in three MIAA matches and tied Central Missouri 0-0 in their last outing.

LAST TIME VS. THE RIVERHAWKS
Emporia State defeated Northeastern State 2-1 in the first round of the MIAA Tournament. The Hornets got on the board 12:08 into the match when
Kennedy Hoffman scored on an assist from a corner kick by
Maria Walden with a deflection from
Tanna Benefiel. In the 26th minute, Northeastern State tied the match at 1-1 on a Paulina Chavez goal.
Olivia Miller sent a corner kick into the box and
Gaby Crowell drove the ball into the net with just 2:36 left in the half for the win.

Emporia State returns to the ESU Pitch next weekend for Homecoming action. The Hornets takeon #24 Central Oklahoma on Friday at 3:00 p.m. and will play host to Newman on Sunday starting at 2:00 p.m. on the ESU Pitch. Emporia State has won 13 straight home matches, the longest active streak in the MIAA.
