ON THE ROAD AGAIN
After a three game home stand, Emporia State heads Northeast to take one two Missouri schools. The Hornets play Missouri Western in St. Joseph, Mo. on Friday Sept. 28 before taking on Northwest Missouri on Sunday, Sept. 30 in Maryville, Mo.
THE COACHES
Bryan Sailer is 54-63-21 in his eighth year at Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history. He has a career record of 113-86-23 that includes coaching four years at the community college level.
Chad Edwards is in his eighth season as the head coach of the women's soccer team at Missouri Western.
Marc Gordon is in his first season as the head coach of the women's soccer team at Northwest Missouri.
LAST TIME OUT
Emporia State Soccer defeated Fort Hays State 3-2 at the ESU Pitch on Sunday. With the win, the Hornets have broken the record for the best start in Emporia State women's soccer history. The Hornets were on the attack from the start, outshooting the Tigers 21-5 in the match. In the 32nd minute, Daniela Cardona sent a shot from 30 yards out on the right side into the far corner of the net for her first goal of the season to give the Hornets a 1-0 lead. The Tigers took the lead with two goals early in the second half. Tanna Benefiel sent a header shot into the back of the net from a free kick from Ashlyn Lakin in the 63rd minute to tie the match at 2-2 with her second goal of the season. Rachel Marshall scored what would become the game winning goal in the 75th minute of the match when she sent a header to the back of the net on a pass from Ashlyn Lakin to give the Hornets a 3-2 lead.
ABOUT THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 6-1-1 on the season, 1-0-0 in the MIAA for the best start in program history. The Hornets have out-shot opponents 132-78 on the season with 56-29 shots on goal. The Hornets have outscored opponents 17-8 this season.

LAST TIME AGAINST THE BEARCATS
