FINAL COUNTDOWN
After Homecoming weekend in Emporia, Emporia State wraps up the regular season with a weekend on the road. The Hornets take on Washburn Friday, Oct. 26 in the Turnpike Tussle before heading North to face Nebraska Kearney on Sunday, Oct. 28 in their regular season finale.

THE COACHES
Bryan Sailer is 59-66-21 in his eighth year at Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history. He has a career record of 118-89-23 that includes coaching four years at the community college level.
Davy Phillips is in his second season as the head coach of the women's soccer team at Washburn.
Chloe Roberts is in her second season as the head coach of the women's soccer team at Nebraska, Kearney.

LAST TIME OUT
The Hornets defeated Cental Missouri 3-1 at the ESU Pitch in Emporia State's senior day match. The Hornets trailed early in the match at the Jennies scored just 31 seconds into the first period. In the 16th minute, the Hornets tied the match at 1-1 when Ashlyn Lakin sent a throw in into the box to set Jacki Martinek up for the goal. Just 1:41 later, Martinek sent a shot off the crossbar as Kennedy Hoffman was in position for the rebound goal to give the Hornets the 2-1 lead. The Hornets held the lead into the half. Eleven minutes into the half, the Hoffman extended the Hornets lead with her second goal of the match on an assist from Maria Walden. This would wrap up scoring in the match as the Hornets held on to take the 3-1 win.

ABOUT THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 11-4-1 on the season, 6-3-0 in the MIAA recording the best win record in program history. The Hornets are currently in a three way tie for third place in the MIAA and receiving votes nationally for the second time this season. The Hornets have outshot opponents 255-176 this season with 106-80 shots on goal with a 31-17 score total.

In the last meeting, Emporia State defeated Washburn 3-0 in non-conference play at the ESU Pitch. The Ichabods lead the all-time series 14-12-4 over the Hornets.

ABOUT NEBRASKA KEARNEY
Nebraska Kearney is 5-10-1 on the season, 3-5-1 in the MIAA. The Lopers have been outshot 188-143 by opponents this season. Ciera Clark leads the Lopers with five goals followed by Maddie Love with three and five players with one goal each.

HISTORY AGAINST THE LOPERS
In the last meeting, Emporia State defeated Nebraska Kearney 1-0 in non-conference play at the ESU Pitch. The Lopers lead the all-time series 5-4-2 over the Hornets.

MIAA TOURNAMENT POSSIBILITIES
The Hornets have clinched their spot in the MIAA Tournament and sit in a three way tie for third with Missouri Western and Fort Hays State and can finish as high as second place. The Hornets can garuntee a first round home match with two wins and would face a lower seeded team at the ESU Pitch on Wednesday, October 31.
