MIAA NON-CONFERENCE MATCH
Emporia State will play in two non-conference MIAA match ups as they travel to Topeka, Kan. to play Washburn in soccer's version of the Turnpike Tussle on Friday and Fort Hays State comes to Emporia on Sunday.

THE COACHES
Bryan Sailer is 43-54-18 in his seventh year at Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history. He has a career record of 102-77-20 that includes coaching four years at the community college level. He is 6-2-3 against Washburn and 1-6-3 against Ft. Hays State.
Davy Phillips is in his first season as head coach at Washburn.
Blake Reynolds is in his first season as head coach at Ft. Hays State.

LAST TIME OUT
Emporia State lost their first game of the season in a double overtime defensive battle with Augustana. The lone goal of the game was scored by Augustana's Rebekah Thoresen on a rebound goal 2:11 into the second overtime. Before the goal, Emporia State's Bethany Reeves had a streak of 266:13 scoreless minutes at goalkeeper.

ABOUT THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 3-1-0 on the season and ranked 10th in this week's United Soccer Coaches Central Regional Rankings. The Hornets have outshot their opponents 53-49 and have outscored them 5-2. The Hornets only loss on the season came in the Minot State Classic against Augustana in a double overtime battle in which only one goal was scored. The Hornets have three players with at least one goal. Kennedy Hoffman leads the team with 2 goals while Ashton Taylor and Shelby Keyes each add 1. Bethany Reeves has started all four matches in goal. She has recorded two shutouts and has 18 saves.

Washburn is 2-1-1 on the season with a home record of 2-1-0. The Ichabods have outshot their opponents 54-40 and outscored them 6-5 on the season. Washburn has had five players score, led by Ellie Karloff with two goals while Tera Lynch, Emily Stauffer, Paige Swanson, and Haley Schroeder each add 1.

This will be the 28th meeting of the soccer Turnpike Tussle. Washburn leads the all-time series 14-9-4, however the Hornets lead 6-2-3 over the last 11 matches.

LAST TIME AGAINST THE ICHABODS
The last meeting between Emporia State and Washburn was October 28, 2016. The Hornets won the match 1-0 over the Ichabods on a goal from Maddie Taylor in the 21st minute of the match.

ABOUT FT. HAYS STATE
Fort Hays is 2-0-2 on the season. The Tigers have outshot their opponents 36-24 and outscore them 8-0 on the season. Fort Hays has had five players score, led by Eden Stoddard with three goals, Catalina Hernandez with two, and Darby Hirsch, Alexa Franks and Silvana Romero each with one. Kristen Thompson has 13 saves and has recorded two shutouts.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 11th meeting between Emporia State and Fort Hays State. The Tigers lead the series 6-1-3 with the Hornets lone win coming last year.
