October 15, 2017-After scoring ten goal in their last ten matches, Emporia State was shut out for just the third time this season in a 1-0 loss at Lindenwood on Sunday afternoon.
After an even first half that saw both teams take nine shots with no goals scored, Lindenwood took the lead when Alyssa Houck scored on a break away in the 53rd minute. The Hornets took six shots, four of them on goal in the final 17 minutes but could not find the back of the net.
Maria Walden had a team high six shots in the match for the Hornets, including four on goal.
Emporia State will finish out the regular season with a four game home stand starting on Friday, October 20 against Northwest Missouri. Kick-off from the ESU Pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
