Box Score October 16, 2016 - The Emporia State soccer team fell 1-0 to Lindenwood Sunday afternoon on Senior Day at the ESU Pitch. The Hornets are now 5-7-2 on the season, 3-4-0 in the MIAA.
FIGHTING THE WIND
In the first period, Emporia State was going against the wind offensively, able to only get three shots off. The lone goal came at the 13:18 mark when Jackie Lindner converted on a breakaway about 15 yards out, assisted from Kat Roe. Yadira Rivera had six saves in the first period.
FALLING SHORT
Even though Emporia State outshot Lindenwood 11-3 in the second period, they were unable to score, eventually falling 1-0. Tanna Benefiel, Maria Walden and Jacki Martinek each had three shot attempts on the day.

Emporia State will travel to Maryville, Mo. to face Northwest Missouri on Friday, Oct. 21. Kick off will be at 3:00 p.m.
