#11 LADY HORNETS CRUISE TO 78-61 WIN AT SOUTHWEST BAPTIST

Ngoie with 23 points for Emporia State

January 28, 2016-The #11 Lady Hornets used a 10-0 run at the end of the first half to take control in a 78-61 win at Southwest Baptist on Thursday night.
 
SHARE THE WEALTH
Emporia State had five different players score their first 11 points as they took an 11-8 lead with 6:24 left on Sandra Ngoie's first three-pointer of the game.  They would push the lead to  seven at 15-8 before settling into a 20-17 lead at the end of the first quarter.
 
CLOSE SECOND
The Lady Hornets would build their lead back to seven in the second quarter before the Bearcats went on a 10-4 run to cut the lead to 33-32 with 4:14 left in the half.  Sarah Magana hit a three with 2:13 left to give SBU a 37-35 lead.  Ngoie would tie the score on a layup with 1:48 left to start a 10-0 run to end the period.  Kyrstie Miller scored five points on a three-poiner and a lay-up  before Jacee Kramer beat teh buzzer with a three to send the Lady Hornets to the break with a 45-37 lead.
 
NOT IN CONTROL BUT NOT IN DOUBT
The Lady Hornet lead would not drop below four points in the second half and would grow to as many as 17 in the fourth quarter.
 
THE NUMBERS
Sandra Ngoie led all scorers with 23 points.  She was joined in double figures by Addie Lackey with 12 and Kyrstie Miller with 11 points.  Kathryn Flott just missed her third straight double-double, finishing with nine points and 12 rebounds.
 
UP NEXT
The Lady Hornets travel to Central Missouri on Saturday.  Tip-off from the UCM Multi-purpose Building in Warrensburg, Mo. is set for 1:30 p.m.
