September 22, 2015 - Emporia State dropped a three-set match, 18-25, 23-25, 13-25, to #7 Washburn at home on Tuesday night. This was the first MIAA game for the Hornets.
STAT LEADERS
Shayla Cotman had seven kills and two solo blocks with a .312 hitting percentage. Kelly Holden and Emma Benton both had 14 digs for the Hornets. Sydney Hartman led with 12 assists followed closely by Kimberly Bell with 11 assists.
KEY MOMENT
In the second set the Hornets and Ichabods were tied at 20 when Washburn scored four straight points, three of them coming on attack errors by Emporia State. The Hornets closed to 24-23 before Leanna Willer ended the set with a kill for the Ichabods.

The Hornets will continue their home stand on Friday, Sept. 25 as they take on the Tigers of Fort Hays State at 7:00 pm in White Auditorium.
