September 15, 2015-Emporia State got back on the winning track with a 25-17, 25-19, 28-30, 25-18 win at William Jewell on Tuesday night in Liberty, Mo. The win snapped a two match losing streak in which the Hornets lost both in five sets.
BIG HITTER
Emma Benton had a monster match as she was credited with 18 kills, 17 digs and two blocks in the four sets. Shayla Cotman was credited with seven kills, nine digs and seven blocks - three of them solo for the Hornets.
OUT IN FRONT
Emporia State has won the first set in eight of their nine matches this year, including the last seven in a row.

The Hornets will have a week off before they play host to #7 Washburn on Tuesday, September 22 in the home opener. First serve of the Turnpike Tussle is set for 7:00 p.m. in White Auditorium.
