EMPORIA STATE BASEBALL LOSES TO WASHBURN 12-7

March 15, 2015- Emporia State Baseball drops final game of series against Washburn by a score of 12-7.

The Ichabods got off to a fast start, scoring four runs before the Hornets recorded an out, and five runs total in the first inning. Washburn scored atleast one run in every inning, but the 6th and 9th.

The Hornets recorded 11 hits as a team. Dean Long lead the team with three hits including a solo homerun in the 4th inning. Justin Harris hit a three run double in the 8th, which made the score 12-7, the way it ended. The Ichabods had 17 hits, including four from Parker Gibson and three each from Riley Krane and Connor Crimmins.

Jarrod Miller got the lose for the Hornets. He went 1.0 innings, gave up five earned runs on six hits with one BB and one K. Eric Schimd got the win for the Ichabods. He went 5.0 innings and gave up two earned runs on three hits with two walks and five K's.

The Hornets are back in action Friday, March 20, 2015 when they face Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at 3 PM.
