March 13, 2015- Emporia State Baseball defeated Wasburn in the first game of the Turnpike Tussle series with a walkoff homerun hit by Tory Bell.
Emporia State started the game with a 1-0 lead after the first inning. The Hornets held the lead from that point until the Ichabods tied it in the 9th inning, putting together a six runs. Tory Bell hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the 9th inning to seal the win for the Hornets in walk off style.
Garrett Brummett got the start for the Hornets, going 6.0 innings with four K's and a walk. Garrett Bane got the win for the Hornets.
Otterstatter got the start for the Ichabods, going 1.2 innings with two walks. Tanner Kilmer got the lose for Washburn.
