February 19, 2015-The #17 Emporia State softball team scored 17 runs in 12 innings as they swept day one action at the Kelly Laas Memorial Crossover at the Husky Dome in St. Cloud, Minn.
The Hornets won game one 8-2 over the host Huskies and came back with a 9-0 win in five innings against Concordia-St. Paul in the night cap.Â
Brenda Novelo was three for three with two RBI, a double and a run scored in the first game while Taylor Zordel was two for four with two runs scored.  Kelsee Henry picked up her second win allowing two runs on five hits in 7.0 innings.
In the second game Stephanie Goodwin went three for three with a homer, double, three RBI and two runs scored to lead the Hornet offense. Zordel was two for four with a run and an RBI while Jessica Gragg hit a solo home run. Eryn Stockman tossed a three hit shutout in the run rule shortened game.
