#1 LADY HORNETS ROLL TO 36 POINT VICTORY IN HOME OPENER

Emporia State wins 19th straight home opener in White Auditorium

November 17,2015-Top ranked Emporia State held Cameron to one of 15 shooting in the first quarter on the way to an 86-50 Lady Hornet victory. It was the 19th straight home opening win for Emporia State in White Auditorium.

CLAMPING DOWN
DJ Vallier scored the first field goal of the game with 8:08 left in the first quarter to give Cameron a 2-0 lead.  The Aggies would not hit another field goal until 7:06 were left in the second quarter as Emporia State ran out to a 29-4 lead to open the game. 

REBOUNDING
The Lady Hornets controlled the boards, outreboundnig the Aggies 55-26 on the night.  Kathryn Flott had a career high 15 rebounds in 25 minutes of action. It is the most rebounds by a Lady Hornet since Merissa Quick pulled down 20 against Washburn on Feb. 27, 2013.  It is the third straight game this year Emporia State has pulled down at least 50 rebounds.

OTHER NUMBERS
Kelly Moten was again the leading scorer for Emporia State as her 18 points led four Lady Hornets in double figures.  Sandra Ngoie had 12 points and nine rebounds to go with two blocks and three steals in her White Auditorium debut.  Kelsey Barnwell had 11 points and Jacee Kramer added ten off the bench for Emporia State.Flott scored six points and had four assists to go with her 15 rebounds.

UP NEXT
The #1 Lady Hornets play host to University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon.  Tip-off from Slaymaker Court in White Auditorium is set for 4:30 p.m. This is a change to accomodate the #18 Hornet football team playing in the NCAA Playoffs at #6 Minnesota State at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
