Box Score November 21, 2015 - The #1 Lady Hornets dominated Science and Arts Saturday afternoon to cruise to a 109-39 win. Five Lady Hornets earned double digits in scoring.
CLOSE FIRST QUARTER
Despite six three-pointers in the first quarter, the Drover hung with the Lady Hornets to end the quarter with Emporia State leading 25-16. Kilah Cummings scored the first bucket of the game with 9:27 left in the first, gaining the only lead for the Drovers at 2-0. The next four scoring plays for the Lady Hornets would be three-pointers, three from Kelsey Barnwell and one from Sandra Ngoie, putting Emporia State ahead 12-7 with 5:24 left in the first.
LADY HORNETS PULL AHEAD
Emporia State outscored the Drovers 27-7 in the second quarter. The Lady Hornets had another five three-pointers in the third quarter, ending the first half with a 50% field goal percentage and a 52.4% three point percentage.
FINISHING
The Lady Hornets outscored the Drovers 57-16 in the second half, ending the game with 17 three-pointers and shooting 50.7% from the field. The Drovers were held to a 22.2 shooting percentage.
HOT HANDS
Six different Lady Hornets made a three-pointer during the game, five players earning in double digit points. Kyrstie Miller led Emporia State with 17 points, shooting five for eight behind the arc. Sandra Ngoie followed with 16 points, shooting two for three from three point range, adding seven rebounds. Jacee Kramer had 15 points for the Lady Hornets, with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Kelsey Barnwell had 14 points on the day, shooting four for five from the arc. Kathryn Flott had 11 points for Emporia State, earning six rebounds. All but two Lady Hornets scored against the Drovers. Addie Lackey was one point away from a double-double, earning nine points and 12 assists. Kelly Moten and Megan Holloway also had nine points for the Lady Hornets, Moten also earning six assists.
